Terms of Service

The deal, in plain English.

Effective: October 6, 2026 · Operator: Hathol, LLC ("BrickIndex", "we", "us") · Contact: support@brickindex.app

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Hathol, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("BrickIndex", "we", "us"), covering your use of the BrickIndex website at www.brickindex.app and any successor domain, the BrickIndex mobile apps, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use BrickIndex.

1. What BrickIndex is

BrickIndex identifies LEGO® minifigures and sets from photos or search, shows market information about them, and lets you keep a private record of your collection, wishlist, sales, notes and photos. BrickIndex is a hobbyist tool. It is not a marketplace, a broker, an appraiser, or a financial adviser, and it does not buy, sell or hold anything on your behalf.

2. Eligibility and accounts

3. Identification and values are estimates

Identification is produced by computer-vision models. It can be wrong, especially between close variants of the same character. Verify before you buy, sell, trade or insure.

Prices, sold-history statistics, "your value", condition-adjusted values, gains, return figures, lot appraisals and suggested maximum bids, and any trend, supply or liquidity indicator are estimates derived from third-party data and from your own inputs. They may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. They are provided for information only and are not an offer to buy or sell, an appraisal, a valuation for insurance, tax or estate purposes, or investment advice. Decisions about what to pay, accept, hold or sell are entirely yours.

4. Your content

5. Acceptable use and fair-use limits

You agree not to: probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service or bypass its security or rate limits; scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download data from it or use automated tools against it; copy, resell, redistribute or publish price or catalog data obtained through it; use it to build or train a competing product or dataset; reverse engineer the apps; impersonate any person; or use the Service for anything illegal. Because the Service relies on third-party data with usage caps, we apply fair-use limits on scans and lookups and may throttle or suspend accounts that exceed them or that we reasonably believe are automated.

6. Third-party data, links and trademarks

7. Mobile apps and app stores

The BrickIndex app asks for camera and photo-library access only when you scan or add photos, and stores your sign-in token in your device's secure storage. If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, those stores are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to the app, are not responsible for the app or for support, and their own terms also apply. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.

8. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on BrickIndex infringes your copyright, send a notice to our copyright agent at support@brickindex.app. Include: your physical or electronic signature; a description of the copyrighted work; the URL or a screenshot of the material; your name, address, phone number and email; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for them. If your content was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. We remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers.

9. Availability, changes and termination

BrickIndex is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or discontinue any feature, and we may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if the Service is discontinued. You may stop using BrickIndex at any time. Sections 3, 4 (as to already-shared content and already-trained models), 10, 11, 12 and 13 survive termination.

We may update these Terms. When we make a material change we'll post the new version here with a new effective date and, where we can, notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Disclaimers

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HATHOL, LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT IDENTIFICATIONS, PRICES, VALUES OR STATISTICS ARE CORRECT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HATHOL, LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSSES ARISING FROM ANY PURCHASE, SALE, TRADE OR INSURANCE DECISION MADE IN RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (BRICKINDEX IS CURRENTLY FREE) OR FIFTY US DOLLARS (US$50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits; in those places our liability is limited to the extent the law permits.

12. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Hathol, LLC against claims, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from Your Content, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@brickindex.app and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. Disputes that aren't resolved will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court where it qualifies. If the consumer-protection law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, that right is preserved.

14. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Hathol, LLC about the Service. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor of the Service. Notices to you may be sent to the email on your account.
